MINISTRY DIRECTOR
LICENSED MINISTER WITH ASSEMBLIED OF GOD
GRADUATE EVANGEL UNIVERSITY: CHURCH MINISTRIES
BIOGRAPHY
Charles is the youngest child among four siblings two brothers and a sister. His father had been an abusive alcoholic. His father never held any one job for very long leaving his mother to work in sewing factories to provide for the family. In the mid 70's his mother ran off out west to escape his father. They would eventually reunite. Soon afterward they were invited to the church where they had an experience with Jesus that transformed the family's life.
Ironically a short time after his decision to follow Jesus, his father would be in a fatal car crash ironically with a drunk driver. His uncle and father died from injuries in the accident. They had been transporting his father's friend to the hospital. It was one of his father's old drinking buddies to whom his father had been witnessing.
After his father's death Ev. Lefort had the opportunity to be one of the first students at his churches newly formed school, Moshannon Valley Christian School. Men in the church were great mentors during his teens. He felt the call to ministry at an early age after being filled with the Holy Spirit. He would attend Evangel College of the Assemblies of God out of high school.
Ev. Lefort allowed sin to creep into his life and dropped out of college. He soon found secular employment and stopped attending church. He met his future wife, Kelly Striker, who he would marry 5 years later. After 3 years they had their first child. They also became involved with Amway where they would give their lives to Christ at a seminar. God began working in Charles' life rekindling the passion for ministry after attending a Brownsville Revival Service in State College.
He began teaching Adult Sunday School and became Men's Ministry Director at his church as well as assisting with leading worship. His pastor gave him his first opportunity to preach on a Sunday Night. This laid a strong foundation for his desire to enter full-time ministry. An employment opportunity would take them away from their church. Moving some 2 1/2 hours from home they found a new church.
Attending a new church brought new opportunities. These did not come too soon. Charles began to feel frustrated at not having the opportunity to minister in a leadership position. All the while unbeknownst to him he was being used at his workplace. He did serve as Senior Commander of the Royal Rangers and on the Board of Ministries before leaving that church.
In 2006 he lost his job due to the impending financial crisis. He would once again begin questioning God as to what direction he was being called. He took a low paying job. Eventually, he would go bankrupt losing everything. God had his hand in everything that took place. Charles was lead to a small church in need of a pastor. By the grace and leading of God, he was appointed pastor of that small church where he would serve for 6 years exactly and receive his licensed minister credential with the Assemblies of God.
He resigned the church due to medical reasons and feeling it was God's will. He returned to his home town, completing his Bachelor's Degree at Evangel University. Once again he would begin seeking God for direction. After differing attempts to force a ministry position, he knew he must humble himself be patient and simply wait on God. He began doing what he could through social media and eventually writing books to further the gospel.
Ev. Charles Lefort is available for speaking engagements and revival ministry. Please contact him through this site or by phone to schedule him for your event. Charles and Kelly had two boys. Both will be attending the University of Valley Forge this year pursuing careers in the ministry.
