Hope

Jesus said he did not come for the healthy but for the sick. He came that the sinner might experience life. Adam's sin had condemned men to death. It brought physical death and a second spiritual death. In Revelations, the lake of fire is referred to as the second death. This lake is reserved for all sinners and evil. Without Jesus all are destined to be thrown in the lake.

Not desiring that any perish Jesus gave his life as a willing sacrifice for the atonement of those who choose to follow him. He called for men to confess their sinful state, repent, and follow him. He said, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” Do you desire eternal life? Simply humble yourself in prayer admitting you are a sinner and turn from your sin. Believe in him and you shall be saved from the second death.

There are no prerequisites in coming to Jesus. He accepts in your current state. You come to him in all your sin and filthiness and he will accept you. There is plenty of time to clean up later as he guides you and directs you. Begin a time of prayer, simply talking to him about your life and desire to follow him. Begin to read the Bible and he will begin to reveal how and what he desires you to do. Man will attempt to tell you what you must do as a follower of Jesus however you are best to follow what is in that book and what he reveals to your heart. Trust Jesus in all things he will never leave you or forsake you.
