Be Victoriuos

There are days when I could crawl in a hole and retreat from life. This feeling is definitely not from the Lord. Tasks, stress and circumstances of the day seem to overwhelm resulting in a sense of hopelessness. While the enemy would use this for evil I can only think that it is at this time I need to cry out to God in all earnest seeking His divine help and guidance.

Have you ever watched a sporting event where a player seems defeated, they are down and there doesn’t seem to be a way out? Then the unspeakable happens, the fighter stands to his feet, the runner gets up off the ground, the player limps back onto the field pain is etched upon their face as they grimace. When life knocks us down we choose whether or not to get back up. When they stand up determined to finish something happens deep inside.

The crowd goes crazy, it seems even the other teams fans are now cheering to see the individual finish. The goal at this point goes beyond winning, the goal is just to finish. As they step up to the plate, the basket, the goal line, the finish line or face to face with their opponent an inner strength begins to well up inside empowering that person to finish.

What is vital in this process it that you stand back up. You can stand up knowing you are no longer alone in the struggle that has been dealt you in life. Scripture says, “A believer can do anything through Christ Jesus.” Nothing is impossible in the eyes of the Lord. He alone is our hope. He alone is our strength.

Many reading this are in the situation or know someone struggling. You may see no way out. Let me confirm there is no way out except through Christ Jesus. Cry out to Jesus in you time of distress and He will give you peace in the midst of your storm.

I am not intending to deceive you into thinking all your problems will magically disappear. What I am saying is just as the player gets back up to face the next punch, pitch, block or pass finding an inner strength to finish, you too will find an inner strength in Christ Jesus to see you through the darkest night.

Giving up or giving in to your struggles or pain insures the enemy a victory. Laying down allows evil to prevail. Never give up. Never give in. Never lay down. When your tank is empty you can find strength to finish in Christ Jesus
