Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in [a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

The Great Commission. Prior to Christ’s ascension into heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father, He gave the disciples the Great Commission. To go into all nations and preach the gospel. This commission is passed on to all who believe in His name.

The gospel of John chapter 4 states the fields are white and ready for harvest. This is ever so apparent in our world today. There are unbelievers at every turn. John also states that the others have done the hard work and now it is for us to reap the harvest.

Many have poured out their heart and soul ministering to the lost. An old African proverb states, “If you want to go quickly travel alone, if you want to go far travel together. “ It is time for us to travel the road together sharing the precious gospel of Christ.

John Buneo, executive director, Assemblies of God World Missions, writes that a pastor who feels he must do everything will lead a stagnant church. He will never grow beyond his ability to lead a limited number of people. A church that relies on a pastor to do all the work will remain stagnant as well.

It is the pastor’s responsibility to lead and the churches responsibility to follow, working together to accomplish the Great Commission. Working hand in hand as the Holy Spirit leads will breath life back into a dead church. Ezekiel prophesied over the dead bone and God brought them back to life. As spiritually dead as the world is today, “HOPE” remains that it can be restored.

Many TV and Radio evangelist have great plans to reach the unbeliever however ever the greatest plan requires believers to team up and work together to implement the plan. David Crabtree, pastor Calvary Church Greensboro, NC, writes “The most under challenged, underutilized, and untrained potential for evangelism sits Sunday after Sunday, listening to our preaching. The possible impact of this untapped resource is staggering.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon one of the great evangelists of this world sat as a small boy in a small church composed of poor, tired laborers as an old preacher preached not knowing the impact he had on the future of this young boy. David Livingstone found his calling an a gathering of grandmothers. Most of the preaching greats were won to the Lord in humble settings.

You will never know the impact you have on this earth until you get to heaven. You will have no impact however unless you are faithful to follow the Lord’s calling, The Great Commission! “Go into all the World and preach the Gospel. . .” Mark 16:15 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? Romans 10:14

Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called.“Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.” Genesis 22:1 Then in my dream, the angel of God said to me, ‘Jacob!’ And I replied, ‘Yes, here I am.’ Genesis 31:11 When the Lord saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, “Moses! Moses!” “Here I am!” Moses replied. 0 And the Lord came and called as before, “Samuel! Samuel!”And Samuel replied, “Speak, your servant is listening.”

Do you see the theme here? Great men of God responded “Here am I” when God called. In our world today there is definitely a need for someone to take the Gospel to the lost. Will you be that messenger? Blessed are the feet of him who brings Good News.
