GOD'S LOVE

There is nothing greater than God’s love for his creation. God’s heart was broken when Adam and Eve in disobedience ate of the forbidden fruit. This put an end to the perfect relationship he enjoyed with his creation. He had a plan of redemption from the very start. That plan also broke his heart.

16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave[g] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 Could you imagine giving your only son to provide atonement for a fallen disobedient people?

When Jesus was on the cross his father had to turn his back due to Jesus taking the sin of man upon himself. God cannot associate with sin. When a sacrifice is made for atonement the object of sacrifice takes on the sin of the one being atoned. Imagine knowing your son was dying and not being able to offer comfort. This is exactly what God did for you when he gave his son.

God loves you, he would have sent his son for only you. This is rather humbling to think someone loved me that much. It is more humbling to think how many reject God’s perfect gift that provides redemption and eternal life.

How can the pleasures of this world take precedent over eternity? Everything the world has to offer is temporary. Nothing the world has to offer satisfies that bottomless void in our heart. Only Jesus can satisfy filling this void. No one following a set of laws or a code of behavior will ever see the streets of glory. Heave is reserved for those who come to Jesus humbly believing in the work he completed on the cross and the plan he established for the redemption of man. Believe in him, confess and repent from your sin seeking forgiveness and you shall be saved from the second death.
