The Xtreme Life is how I have interpreted a follower of Christ is to live their life. I believe that as we come to Christ in complete surrender and humility seeking redemption we have a responsibility to live a life that glorifies God in everything we do. Salvation involves repentance. I believe repentance is being overlooked in many churches and needs to once again be brought to the forefront of the Christian life.

Paul calls followers in Ephesians to let Christ be our example. Believers are to model their life after Christ. If we had no responsibility for how we live once we are transformed we would not be called to repent or for Jesus to be our example.

We are to be holy a God is holy. I realize the only way to be holy is through the redemptive work of Christ who cleanses us from all unrighteousness. However, is there not life after that work. We have the option to live righteous or continue in sin. Jonathan Shuttlesworth teaches that a believer must consciously chose to sin. There is no accidental sin. I concur with this teaching.

Jesus taught the parable of the Sheep and the Goats. The Final Judgment where his followers are divided and judged according to how they ministered to the less fortunate. Those who served selflessly were ushered into eternal life. Those who neglected to minister to these were divided and given eternal punishment. It seems to me that this describes heaven and hell. This judgment is upon believers. Did Jesus not say all those who call me Lord will not receive eternal life?

Therefore, I have written The Xtreme Life I feel too many are being deceived that they can live and do what they want without fear of eternal damnation. 2 Chronicles 7:14 calls for those called by God’s name to humble themselves and pray, seek God as they repent. If I am wrong Jesus said, “I have chosen you, you have not chosen me, to go and bear good fruit.” We are his chosen in this generation. If we desire to see healing in this land believers best get on their knees before God in repentance.

Be Xtreme! He says we are to bear “good fruit.” We must be careful in our discipling of new believers that they become well-grounded and understand the teachings of Jesus. I think as believers we need to return to the model of the early church.

In the early church, as the Apostles would evangelize a town, they would preach the Gospel. The Apostle or his designate would then remain there until the people were taught and understood the teachings of Christ. In today’s church when an individual comes to Jesus we might put a Bible in their hand. We then tell them to start reading John and some simple instructions. After which, we wonder where they are in two weeks.

There is nothing Xtreme about being a Christian today. Some of the Disciples were Zealots. (Xtreme) They had a passion for what they believed and their nation. They believed Jesus was going to set up his kingdom any minute. Most believe today that Jesus may return at any time, but they do nothing about it. Some even criticize other Christians for preaching Christ’s soon return. With all the current events Jesus could slip in and slip out and I believe few would even be aware living in their denial.

Xtreme is not being fanatical or a Bible thumper. Being Xtreme refers to living your Christian life to the fullest. Refrain from walking the fence. Declare sin to be sin and flee from it. This is not a game. If you desire God’s blessing then live a life that glorifies God in everything you do. Love all as Christ would love them. Seek out the needs in the people around you and minister to them. Exemplify Christ to the masses!

This book deals with facets of the Xtreme Life that all who desire to be Xtreme should employ in their lives. It is not all inclusive. Rather these are points to consider. It is my prayer that this book is a blessing to you and an encouragement in you walk. BE BLESSED and BE XTREME! This is the preliminary Introduction for my new book.
