EMERGENCY!!!

As I sit here late into the night I hear the fire whistles alerting the volunteer firemen that there is an emergency requiring their attention. I am not alarmed or motivated to act. There is not much I could as I am not a fireman. I think perhaps if it were my neighbor’s house or my own I would be real motivated. Is this not how we approach evangelism?
If someone I know personally does not know the Lord I might be more inclined to share Jesus with them than say a person I bump into in the mall. Is this being true to our calling? Doesn’t Jesus call us as believers to “Go into ALL the world and preach the Gospel making disciple of all men?”
If we truly believed those around were in jeopardy of dying and experiencing eternal hell we would do something about it. I think we have become complacent in our relationship with Christ. There is coming a day when you and I both as believer’s will be judged. Perhaps our eternal destiny will not be on the line but how we live that out certainly will be.
We will receive an eternal reward for being faithful to our calling and sharing the Gospel with those that the Lord has drawn us to. If we were standing outside a burning building and there were people stuck on the upper floors. Wouldn’t we do everything within our power to save them?
I write this blog to make people aware of Jesus’ gift of salvation that no one would perish. I also feel compelled to encourage and motivate readers to be faithful to their calling. I hope you embrace my words with the sincerity in which I write. This is my calling.
Jesus, God’s only Son, was sent to earth by his Father to restore the kingdom. The kingdom that God had desired never came to fruition due to sin entering creation. Sin destroyed all that God had hoped for, Sin tore a rift between God and man that could only be healed through a perfect blood sacrifice. Annual rituals were established for man to be atoned for sin through animal sacrifice however this was flawed.
Hebrews 9 tells us that Jesus put an end to ritual sacrifice. No longer did man have to enter the Temple again and again. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age[k] to remove sin by his own death as a sacrifice. Jesus fulfilled the law and took all of humanities sin upon himself that God and man might be restored to a right relationship.
One cannot help but be touched by his sacrifice by reading the account in scripture or watching it played out in the movie “The Passion.” Now that you have somewhat of an understanding of the work he did, you must understand, he offers you this free gift of eternal life. All of mankind is deserving of death and hell due to disobedience (sin). By his great mercy we have been offered eternal life freely. All who believe and call on the name of Jesus in repentance shall be saved.
Through confession that we are sinners and turning from our old life through repentance our sins are taken away as far as the east is from the west. When we approach God, he doesn’t see our sin and filth he sees vessels that have been washed in the blood of Jesus. Pure an holy. We are now able to have a relationship with God with the hope of eternal life.
Simply call on Jesus like you would talk with a friend, tell him you’re a sinner and you believe he is the son of God who died for your sins, ask for forgiveness of your sins, ask him to be lord of your life as you begin to live out your belief through obedience to him. By humbling yourself and praying this prayer you are now a child of God with the guarantee of eternal life as your name has been recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
