LIFE IS BUT A VAPOR

Life is but a vapor. Life is fragile. We never know when it will be taken from us. Read the headlines. 59 killed in massacre in Las Vegas. These people never had a clue they would die that evening. They went to this concert naïve to the events that were about to occur.
Read your newsfeed, newspaper or watch the news. People are being killed and dying all around us. Who can say they have not been touched by the death of a friend or loved one in the past year? Your life is here today do you have a guarantee of tomorrow? None of us do.
Terrorism, war, natural events, drunk drivers, domestic violence, crime, accidents and many other events result in death everyday. All are condemned to death. When sin entered the world, death was the consequence. Romans tells the wages of sin is death. Everyone will eventually die, some will be raptured with Christ.
The key here is that you will die or you will be raptured with Christ if you are a believer. Death comes in an instant as will the rapture. If you are not prepared the consequence will be the second death described in Revelations as the lake of fire. Your choice is eternal bliss or eternal punishment.
On every tombstone between your date of birth and date of death is a dash. This dash represents your life. It has a beginning and an ending. The life it represents is our earthly life. All will experience eternity either in heaven or hell. All have a choice where to spend eternity. Chose a life of a believer that follows Christ or live for the temporary pleasure serving the world.
Light a candle and hold it in front of you. Now blow it out. As quick as that flame ceased to exist is how quick your life will be taken in death. No one wakes in the morning with expectation of being brutally murdered or having a fatal accident. Death is assured for you and me.
All who believe and all on the name of Jesus will be saved. When we come to Christ humbly seeking forgiveness recognizing he is Lord our names are written in the Lambs Book of Life assuring us eternal life. How we follow determines how we spend eternity. He calls us to follow him as he has set an example for us and to be holy as he is holy.
Before it is too late bow your head and call on Jesus your eternal depends upon it!
