Your Position is Insignificant to God

Today we celebrate the 99th Birthday of the Rev Billy Graham one of if not the greatest evangelist in the world. Oh, to be 99 sitting in my easy chair knowing my ministry impacted millions of people around the world from the poorest of the poor to world leaders.

The fact to remember is that if you minister to millions or just one the world will be different. This is the idea of my blog, “Ripples.” Whatever we do in life is going to have an impact on the world around us. The question is will you influence the world for Christ or for evil?

God can and will use you where you are, you just need to be a willing vessel submitting to his will and direction. You do not have to be a great evangelist, business CEO, or World Leader. God uses those in prison, ditch diggers and old retired Sunday School teachers.

If we look beyond the coat of many colors, we find Joseph imprisoned with no hope or future. Despite his circumstances he remained faithful to God. God used him in his imprisonment as he availed himself to God. When he found favor with Pharaoh he remained faithful. His position in life had no influence over his faith.

Gideon was threshing wheat in a wine press fearful of the Midianites. When visited by God’s messenger he was faithful to the calling to lead an army against the Midianites. He began with an army of 32,000 which was dwindled to 300 to show that God provided the victory.

Jesus chose the rejected and hated to follow him and evangelize the world. God uses the broken to bring him glory. When he takes a person of no repute it is evident that the working of God has brought change in the world. Dwight Moody was converted to Christ by the witness of his Sunday School teacher. He would go on to be a great evangelist leaving his mark worldwide.

I’m not sure who you are or what your status is in life. I can say this about your life, God may develop you into a great evangelist like Billy Graham or use you to reach one singular life like D.L. Moody’s Sunday School teacher, but you must avail yourself to him. Be the clay in the potter’s hands. If you refuse, then I can guarantee you that your life will be insignificant.
