All the world is a buzz with the joy of Christmas. I would like to share that while Jesus is the reason for the season, he is more to me. He is my reason for living. If it were not the hope that he gives to all men, there would be no reason to continue this life. Without the hope that he offers what motivates man to endure the challenges and trials of this life?

Jesus willingly stepped down from heaven offering his life that all men might have the hope of eternal life. Through Adam’s disobedience sin came upon all men. Sin separated man from God bringing the curse of death upon all men. God in his mercy provided his only son, Jesus, as a sacrifice for all sin.

18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. 19 Because one-person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous. Romans 5:18-19

As many celebrate the birth of a great man, I chose to celebrate the birth of my Savior and Lord, the promised Messiah prophesied hundreds of years before his birth. It is astounding to calculate the odds of Jesus fulfilling all the prophecies of his life found in the Old Testament. I would encourage you to watch “A Case for Christ” by Lee Strobel. (www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhe8KhSxWGo) This movie details the facts relating to the life of Christ and that he truly is the son of God.

Deuteronomy 28 details blessings for the obedient and curses for the disobedient. If you desire to live in God’s blessings you must be obedient to His Word. Jesus said, “If you lo9ve me, keep my commandments.” His commandments were to love God and to Love others. If we truly believe and love Jesus, we will not live a life of wickedness that is found in unbelievers. We will be obedient to him following his direction and guidance provided through the Holy Spirit.

This Christmas you have the opportunity to receive the greatest gift of all, Salvation. Jesus through his act of humility died that you might have forgiveness of sin and the hope of eternal life in God’s presence. He has saved all who believe from the fire and damnation of hell. Simply believe and call on the name of Jesus and you shall be saved. Experience Jesus you will find he is more than you could ever comprehend.
